Introduction to Acid-Base:
Acid is defined as the chemical substance which is having sour taste. The acid having the capacity to dissolved in water. And it produces an ion which is larger than the pure water. The acid is also having the capacity to turn blue litmus red. Base is a substance which reacts with the water, thus produces the component called water and salt. In the aqueous solution, the bases are having the capacity to increase the concentration of the OH- ions.
Acid-Base reactions:
Acid and base are combined to form to produce the component called salt. These acid and base when reacts with each other, they becomes in the neutralize state. In this, the acid called H (+) also known as the cation reacts with the OH (-) also called as the anion present in the base forms the solution called water. Thus the compound formed by the reaction of acid and base are called as the salt. For example,
The sodium hydroxide reacts with the hydrochloric acid forms the salt called NaCl.
HCl + NaOH H2O + NaCl
Where,
HCl = acid
NaOH = base
H2O = water
NaCl = salt

Acid and Base properties
The properties of acid are given below,
- The acid has the capacity to dissolved in water, so that
- The acid can conducts electricity
- Acid has the capacity to change the color from blue litmus to red.
- Acid is having sour taste.
- When the acid reacts with base, then it will be neutral.
- Acid also having the capacity to reacts with the metal which is in active state.
- The base has the capacity to dissolved in water, so that
- The base can conducts electricity
- Base has the capacity to change the color from red litmus to blue.
- Base always feels like slippery.
- When the base reacts with acid, then it will be neutral.
